A skydiver in Far North Queensland narrowly survived a high-altitude emergency when his reserve parachute opened prematurely at 4,600m and became caught on the aircraft during a group jump. Forced to cut himself free mid-air, he later deployed his main parachute and landed safely, Australia’s transport safety investigator said.
